The Ferst Foundation for Childhood
Literacy
is an
organization dedicated to getting books and
literacy support services into the homes of young children, at absolutely
no cost to the family, to prepare all Georgia preschool children for
reading and learning success.
In conjunction with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library,
the Ferst Foundation will provide a free book each month to every
registered child in Carroll, Haralson, and Heard
Counties under the age of 5.
Every child under 5 is eligible!
Each age-appropriate, hard cover book will be mailed directly to the
child.
The program really works!
In Morgan
County, Georgia, where the Ferst Foundation Program has been in place
since 2001, the school system has documented an amazing jump in the
number of children who pass the Primary
Kindergarten Readiness Test from 45% to 90%.
You can register your children at any public library in
Carroll, Haralson,
or
Heard County.
